I'm floating on the fence too.
Basis is that AGM costs over TWO times more than traditional.
Costco didn't at the time, carry AGM, but now does both yellow & red top, but still 2x $$$.
Warranty is now the same for both and is pro rated.
My 1996 7.4L engine bay gets so hot that I can't reach in there when the engine is running due to the heat from the air coming off of the radiator (even when the clutch is disengaged). Both types of batteries has been VERY hot to the touch, so heat isn't a big factor in my Sub.
I'm still on the fence mainly because of the cost to benefit for ***ME***.
If still had the boat, sure thing, get the AGM and mount it somewhere else (upside down).
Haven't run down a AGM yet (hope not to test that) and know that traditional will never charge nor provide as much current once it's been drained below 50%.
