Calif has 'some' tax sub's, but the big one is Germany.

They have the largest subsidy for both manufacturers and consumers. Their government is trying to become the center for products and infostructure for EU. Think they are close to that goal.

Surprised that the Chinese is one of the worlds largest makers. Maybe marketing hype that reporter just parroted.

The one IP I like is the one invented by a guy in middle American. It's embedded in paint and is very low efficiency, but it's also cheap. 3% is the number, IIRC, but the whole house is a solar cell. The other thing is that it's flexible and not prone to damage that a silicone based cell would be.
