Gov sub's can make the difference, "IF" done right.

Meaning in it for a long run. Like the old boot strap programs many countries employed decades ago.

My issue is the 'our' government won't stay the course long enough.

One of my startups was purchased by a big Ohio company and we morphed into a windturbine product company as they bled us dry and took everything back to Ohio.

Insurance work retrofitting windturbine heads that broke during stroms.

The whole industry went bust the month the government subsidies ended (actually tax credits, even higher value than sub's). Our customer base were those who made enough to use the tax credits and they all stopped buying the day those credits ended.

I think similar to 'American' vs 'foreign' management metrics, again. Germany has and will continue to subsidize their solar programs, while domestically, dicey from administration to administration at best.
