OK - Im confused
New RVer (tow-behind with an accessory battery)

Our 02 sub has the towing wiring with the Aux 12V trailer accessory wire to the underhood fuse center stud. The idea is to charge the RV battery with the when the engine is running. The RV does not have a battery isolater (that i can find in the RV literature).

>>>If i install the fuse for this Aux circuit, what prevents damage to the 10 gauge Aux 12V wire during starting (e.g. the starter will pull large current from any battery connected)? I cant find in the Sub manual where there is a relay only closes after start for this circuit<<<<<<<<<<

I am planning on getting or building the correct battery isolator soon but would like to use it this weekend. I wont install the fuse till i know its OK.

GM included the pigtail connector for the brake controller and a 40A fuse taped to it for the Aux circut (the brake is the other aux stud - it has a 30A fuse already installed), but they dont say anything about the possiblity of wiring damage.
