I seem to recall discussion on this.....
Length is different (xmember change)
output shaft is larger (transfer case change)
electronics are slightly different (calibration issues)
4L80 is less efficient so you'll lose 15% fuel economy.
Do what I did, get a SERTA 4L60 trans from the dealer and don't look back. You'll be happy (if your running stock engine). If you blew-up your planetary, be advised they changed to a heat-treated version for the SERTA trans and it's not likely to fail again.
