Yours probably just needs some tune-related work to get it back into the happy 'window' of operation. Check the easiest (plugs, correct ACDELCO PCV valve, fuel/air filter, check for vacuum leaks and make sure the MAP sensor hose/port isn't gunked up).

Blaine et al,
Did check plugs and wires...all looked acceptable. Found a couple suspect vacuum lines and replaced, totally shocked with the amount of gunk found in the MAP vacuum port on the back of the TBI. Cleaned that up. Found my O2 sensor to be faulty....wire burned through from exhaust. Replaced. Lifted up on EGR diaphram and engine idle surged, assuming passages are OK.
Was wondering if anyone used Seafoam to clean out exhaust passages? Would a couple of dosages via fuel tank have any effect on this????
So far, no check engine light, no codes, idle is much smoother, acceleration is incredible. However, haven't towed yet...that'll be the true test.
Thanks guys.
