Here is what the text & ads that pop up on a conversation on his GM side post battery problem.

Hot button right now because had an arguement with someone about google reading everyone's email
text. She says no way...till asked her to check herself, and now she's mad at 'me' for sending her
an invite to gmail...

GM is famous for the bad design on the side post.

There is a lead washer between the two lugs. Single lug
design is 'okay', but when they added the second
lug, they added that lead washer.

That washer is a one time usage thing, as it crushes and
can't supply the resistance for future cycles of torque.

Therefore, the bolt is not too long and pokes into the
battery body and cracks it. Leaks acid that will wick
down to the starter.

Also not intermittent and load dumps the alternator.
Which will then ruin future batteries with those spikes.

Toss that lead washer and replace it with steel or brass
washers. Check the cables and the only way is to
cut off the lug surrounding plastic. You'll most likely
find acid rot...
