I used the OEM DRL-OFF switch from the Police Tahoe in my 96 Sub. It fit's in the stock switch location right next to the radio. Some of the wiring is already there.
The older style trucks (pre-2000) route the headlamp power all through the inside of the truck. I added relays to power the lamps from the underhood battery source and I bet I gained 20% brighter light just from that modification. Making the hi and lo stay on together is easy once you decide to do the underhood relay install. I made my own set-up but I'm sure it ended up looking like a Painless or Kennedy pre-wired kit. That set-up is still running after 4 years with the stock bulbs, no problem.
