When we put an addition on our house some years ago, I did all the trim work with a trim nailer. It was great! I find that I am often working alone, and the nailer allowed me to hold pieces and nail them in place without wishing I could grow a third arm. Also, if you ever miss with a regular hammer, the distinctive dent you leave becomes an exhibit of your error for all to see forever after! Didn't have that with the nailer. My trim is all polyurethaned wood. If it's going to be painted, it's easier to cover up your mistakes.
