New poster here, long time reader.

Re: posts, I have built several decks, fences etc. Except in one instance, always used crushed rocks to hold posts.
Concrete tends to retain moisture, IMHO a nuisance to deal with.
Crushed rock well tamped, will hold as well as concrete, allow for drainage, easy to pour in and tamp down.
