I had a similar situation on my chevy sedan - front passenger door. The window motor had been running real slow for a while and then it stopped completely. Had the car to the mechanic for another issue (blower resistor) and asked about difficulty of replacing the window motor. He said not to - just yet. Then he began playing with the switches (up/down, driver/passenger side) all the while watching the dome light to see if it dimmed at all when he pushed the switch. No significant dimming led to theory that it was wiring and not motor/mechanical. Then he openned the driver door and grabbed the flexible tube that the wires run through between the body and the door. After some squeezing and massaging, the window started working again. It seems that the wires going through that tube are manipulated each time the door is opened/closed which leads to it cracking or breaking. When he grabbed the bundle through the tube, he managed to realing the wire so that it made a good connection again. I would not trust this fix if it were the fuel pump or other electrical device I really needed but on my rusty 97 sedan, it was worth those 5 minutes. And now I know what to grab the next time the windows stops moving.
