Tucson to San Diego and back. Did pretty well.
Tranny started to overheat on the climb into SD. Pulled over at 230 degrees and used the freezing cold radiator tank water to spray the tranny cooler while running to get it back down.
Re-plumbed the radiator tranny cooler back into the loop for the climb out. Topped out at 195 degrees climbing back out if SD through the same pass. Proved that theory wrong. It just needs that massive wet cooler's heat capacity to suck out the heat from the tranny. Engine temp never moved off what it always runs at ~195-200.
OOPS, did run slightly over filled 1/2 - 1 Qt over the whole way back. And did start smelling burnt tranny fluid periodically. Pumped out the excess and it is a bit stinky, but not too bad. I'm running it to roosevelt lake this afternoon. Rounded off the tranny drain plug or I would have done a quick fluid swap. Hope I don't fry it!
Otherwise it ran pretty dang well given the 31' toy hauler behind it.
Didn't seem to use any oil either.
Only got ~5-7 MPG towing and 11 free. I'm a bit disappointed with that.
Climbing out of SD 2nd gear hammer down to hold 40 MPH. Pretty brutal! Why oh why did GM not put the Duramax/Allison combo in the 3/4 ton Suburban! What beast it would be!
I'll update later.

: Mine is GMT400 1996 8.6K-GVWR K3500 Suburban 7.4L/4.1's with around 160K miles.
:
: No longer my daily, nor drive it much. Tow occasionally and a jaunt off roading.
:
: It never consumed oil till the oil broke down. The dash oil PSI gauage then fluctuates a bit, so know
: to change engine oil.
:
: A slight miss at all speeds just appeared and will have to go through it just like you have on yours.
:
: The 4L80E now leaks a bit and think about time to noodle a rebuild.
:
: Ditto the brakes. Fussy and know that it is in need of new calipers and hoses. Maybe a new MC (1 ton dually version)
