Yes you have to depressurize the system to break in. If you have pressure that is good/high and the compressor is not staying on long and no cold air than more that likely it is the orifice tube. Also it is likely that you will be replacing the compressor in a year or two. The tube acts like a filter and gets clogged with the compressor seals deteriorating. Been there, done that.
