The drivers door on my 1999 K2500 Suburban has gotten increasingly difficult to open and makes a scraping noise. Yesterday I took a good look and as it closes it comes in about 1/4" low at the top of the frame and as it engages the round thing ( I don't know the correct name) on the door frame the door lifts up the 1/4" and when closed the alignment is perfect. The noise and the difficulty opening and closing are associated with engaging the round thing.
I would like to fix this. I see no way of adjusting the door hinges. Has anyone successfully put upward force on the door to bring it back to the original adjustment? Any other more elegant ideas?
