Your "misunderstanding" also reminded me of a story of two preachers who had their churches across the Highway from each other.

One day, they both were out there in the middle of the highway holding signs that read "THE END IS NEAR! PLEASE TURN AROUND"

A motorist stopped and cussed them out, calling them Religious Fanatics and telling them to mind their own business. Then, sped away.

The next thing the preachers heard was a loud crash down the road. One of them looked at the other and said:

"May be the signs should have read THE BRIDGE IS DOWN instead!"
