Yesterday I pulled the battery and cleaned the contacts. I disconnect and inspect the ECM and reconnected it. I removed the speedometer cluster and then reconnected. I verified the main ground from the battery was tight. Then I reconnected the battery.

I have a 100 mile towing trip next weekend to test the system.

I'm not optimistic that I solved the problem, but I had to try something.
