Thanks for the response. The pump that is in there is a genuine GM pump, I'm going to try to get it replaced under warranty since the sensor is a part of the pump.

In doing more research, it looks like there is only one sensor. GMPartsDirect.com only lists one part. Maybe they just put the sensor in the big tank. Does that make sense to you guys? the guage has always lingered around full for a while and then started moving, is the single sensor the reason for that?

Good to know about the float arm. that might explain why the level sometimes goes below the 'E' mark...
