re-reading this and take back using the Emergency brake to extend your braking.

GMT800, so 4 wheel disc and the 'Parking' brake is no longer also an "Emergency" brake. So don't use
it as it won't extend the braking as the drum/shoe is a tiny one inside the disc hub.

Next time anyone rents or tows a surge brake trailer, check the brakes by pulling the safety
chain. Then tow it a bit. The trailer brakes should skid.

If not, then the surge brakes are NOT working.

Too many use the safety brake as a holding brake while the trailer is in storage. That then exposes
the MC rod to the elements to rust it. It then doesn't work well if at all.
