Thanks for the reply. I called a shop about welding it in place, and the guy seemed pretty knowledgeable. He said the metal was probably crystallized and the weld would likely not hold. He suggested I replace the pipes. I have ordered them. When I ordered them, the salesman tried to sell me new O2 sensors. He said I'd have to have someone "reset" the system if I installed the old O2 sensors into the new pipes. Anyone know what's required to "reset" the system?
: I removed my pipe to get the trans out so I had the xmember off anyway. The xmember comes off very easily. Just make sure while your jack/lift is holding up the trans that it's not in the way of pipe removal. You could always have a welder try and fix it while on the vehicle. Just disconnect all your sensitive electronics if you arc-weld. The cat converter nuts can be a real pain and so can the manifold studs. Hit them up with penetrant well before you start your teardown.
