I replaced both front window motor/regulators in the past 6 months on my 2002 Suburban. They are much cheaper online than locally. I bought mine at Rock Auto. 92sub is right, replace it before it fails completely suddenly. Then you will be forced to buy it locally unless you can park it until an online part arrives. It only took me about 1/2 hr total time to replace the regulator.

The grinding noise is usually a frayed cable being forced through the regulator.

: I have a 02 burb. The window makes a grinding noise going up and down. Would the motor be going bad or the regulator? Thanks for everyone's help.
