: 2000 Sub K1500 5.3L, 90,000 miles
: I posted last week about a check engine light that translated into a bad O2 sensor. The sensor was replaced and the light went out. Now, I am getting complaints from the family drivers that the Sub has no pickup. You have to really mash the pedal to get any acceleration. It will go 65-70mph but it takes longer to get there.
: I am thinking it is a bad catalytic converter maybe related to the O2 sensor going bad.
: Any suggestions? I'll talk to my tech next week as well.

Well I am a little embarrassed. I had a road test scheduled with my tech for after my boys' basketball game. On the way home from the game, I drove the truck and felt resistance when trying to accelerate. It occurred to me that a couple of weeks ago I was working in the truck to replace the hood release handle and probably moved the floor mat. I reached down and pulled the floor mat away from the gas pedal and magically the resistance went away and my acceleration returned. I met up with my tech and, somewhat red faced, explained that I had fixed my own problem.
