Not sure what year Navigator you looked at but I switched from a '99 Suburban to an '08 Expedition EL (the less fancy cousin of the Navigator) I switched to the Ford, because I liked the way the interior was configured on mine the 3rd row of seats folds flat into the floor and the second row folds flat as well so if I need to haul cargo and not people it's easy to switch - no hauling out the 3rd row and storing it somewhere like the GM's. The two weaknesses on mine - rear brakes wear out quickly (35k) while the front brakes look new - several others have seen that too. Rear lift gate is starting to have surface rust - looking around my area I see many more Fords with rust then GM's. Other than that I'm happy with the vehicle, I'd buy it again.
