: It appears that my fuel guage is invaded by gremlins....'01 2500 with the dual fuel tanks. Fuel pump died at 100K, now at 133K and it started a few months ago where the gauge would go to E and the "low fuel" message would come on. Now it goes all the way to F when I fill up but hangs at 7/8 as the tank empties. I am thinking sensor but not sure if it can be replaced independent of fuel pump. Could be a bad ground but where to start? Any Ideas?

More information is needed because of the dual tank set up. Would need to know which tank is causing the problem.

Fuel level sensor is available independently for the pump on the rear tank, but is almost as expensive as the pump/sensor assembly. If the front tank is causing the problem, the entire module must be replaced.

Best diagnosis comes from a significant amount of work: drop both tanks, ohm test the sending units.
