I have found the aftermarket stuff to be decent quality and for the price, you can go through a few of them before you come close to an OEM item.

I found OEM mirrors at gmpartsdirect.com for less than $500. I also found seemingly compatible aftermarket mirrors at Rockauto.com and amazon.com for about $35 or less.

Aftermarket mirrors are not painted. You can also try a you-pull type yard if you can find one nearby with an equivalent model. The nice thing about using rockauto.com is that if you click on a replacement, you can see what other model years and vehicles have compatbile mirrors.
