If going to change plugs, suggest cutting back the
ground strap

Really wakes up most all gassers I've touched

Plays on the corona affect and breaks down the air/fuel charge a bit faster to establish the plasma arc

Bigger flame kernel and that is the key to getting as much out of the charge as possible

Image is of a standard, non-platinum NGK with the
ground strap cut back

Just modified a set for my 1996 7.4L and am waiting for the new Taylor SS wires (RF suppressed). Can't find brass inserts for the rotor and cap....so think will have to order on line
