2002 Suburban LTS with autoride and 125K miles and the rear air shocks had blown out their airbags. Didn't want to spend a ton of dollars on new Delco shocks, but was unsure how to "deactivate" the ride control.

Monroe has a kit (part number 90012) that comes with 2 front gas shocks, 2 rear air shocks and 4 resistors that you connect to the shock electrical connectors. The resistor fools the computer into thinking that the OEM shocks are still there.

I replaced the shocks but left the connectors open for a test drive, and the message "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" came up on the dash. I then cut off the connectors and soldered in the resistors, and the warning went away.

For less than $200 I have a nice riding truck again.
