: Why is it that I cannot make a #@$%# 45' angle joint come out even? SWMBO decided that since NoBelay was off to college, the kids bathroom needed a refresh. New paint, flooring, light fixture and towel bars I can handle, no problemo. When it comes time to cut baseboards, however, I can burn three times the wood and four times the time I know is necessary to get it to look right.
:
: I am using a hand saw/miter combination, and I have a hard time trying to justify the purchase of a powered unit for two reasons: One, I don't do this hardly ever, and don't plan on it in the near future; and Two, A powered miter saw would only screw wood up faster and noisier.... The molding I am cutting is fairly complex, with lots of curves, but all I can seem to do is have a 1/32" gap somewhere in the mitered joint. AAAAAARGH!
:
: Of course, the fact that this is the first time I've done something like this in 8 or 9 years means I'm not too practiced up on it. Somebody tell me that practice is all I need...although a 12 pack seems like a much friendlier solution right now.
