Hi Smitty,

The Burb is doing fine, just getting old like the rest of the family... :)

Think there is a bit more blow by and why the higher HC/NO. Gone is the instant power mode and
that 'jump up and run'. It still goes into power mode, but it's not the same and know that the
rings aren't sealing as well anymore.

SMOG check every other year here in Calif. Anything over x years has to go to a SMOG test
only shop. No mechanic to fix anything, so de-linked the incentive (cheats). $68 bucks 'per'
test. So if it failed, another $68 bucks after I fix whatever they say is wrong (some shops won't
tell which areas to check).

Have my mechanic check it out on his machine in diag mode and not hooked up to the Internet (DMV).
We play a cat'n mouse game, as my vehicles check out cleaner than most the cars he
certifies....this time he knew for sure I tweak it, as it wasn't as clean as usual, but still on
the low side of the cars he certifies. That cost me $20 bucks and well worth it (I get a discount
as I've recommended him on the Sun and HP Asian aliases).

He felt better after telling him I didn't change the oil and we both agree blow by is the most likely cause.

I think my Sub will never get those super clean numbers again, as the rings/cylinder walls are no
longer 'tight'. Am wondering if the long periods sitting is doing this. As four years ago it was
super clean emissions, but only after it failed and new CATs & dual exhaust
installed....or....that I've enjoyed that extra performance above 2,800 RPMs from the duals a bit
too much.... :(
