A HD steering dampener has solved a few similar issues, but also hasn't.

What is the setup? Year? 7.2K or 8.6K GVWR, 4x4, OEM tire/wheels, or after market and if so, what
are their spec's? How many miles on the front end and if it has been rebuilt (and with what).

Very large off road tires and alloy's with lots of offset has this problem all the time. Some
times never going to get rid of it, especially tires over 35" dia and/or very wide.

If alloy's, did you allow them to put weights on both sides of the rim? I've seen setups where the
owner insisted only on the inside rim, then to have the shimmy go away once they were allowed to
put weights on both sides of the rim.

I'm very disappointed with the Moog HD parts used on my 1996 K3500 Sub's front end. Already worn
and I don't drive it much anymore. No shimmy, but lots of play (about 1.5-2 inches side to side on
the steering wheel and little to no movement of the tire). I'll not put Moog parts on my trucks
anymore, where they used to be my gold standard.

Also, some specialty off road tires are not as tightly toleranced (out of round and run out).
I've fixed that by breaking the bead and rotating the tire on the wheel 90* to 180*. Then
rebalancing the assembly. Have also found that a tire that looks 'okay' will have a 'lump' or
'dent' in it from both manufacturing and/or striking a crub/rock/pothole/etc.

Finally, if there are lots of miles on the steering box, it might be in need of adjustment.
Very easy to ruin it of over tightened, so I don't normally recommend a DIY, but go to a
suspension shop that knows what to do.
