Nope, It was a totally different set of nasty chemicals. CCA lumber was replaced due to the Chromium and Arsenic in it. CCA = Copper, Chromium, Arsenic. It was a pretty good product until you disposed of it. Eventually it was going to release the metals back into the environment. Really bad if you burned it.

The intact CCA lumber was very safe and had almost on leaching of the chemicals out of it.

I designed and conducted the EPA Pesticide reregistration studies back in the mid 90s for CCA and ACZA lumber. Back in my chemist days.

PS Formaldehyde is very heavily used in adhesives found in the composite wood products in trailers. that is likely the source.

: I thought it was the formaldehyde that made everyone move away from green treated lumber. Why would they then use it in trailors - if they know it is harmful. $$$$'s again probably.
