Just getting my workstation back on line. Bought a new house and moving my stuff from the old house where ex-sweetie was using it.

Found many, many tracking cookies. Removed them and updated all of the protection stuff (Ad-Aware, spybot, spywareblaster, AVG, zonealarm, etc).

Now my system is unstable and locks or crashes. Bother blue screen of death and reboots.

Scanned clean with spybot and AVG, but ad-aware bombs 'some times', and now every time.

Anyone experiencing similar? Is XP (pro) getting so old that the vendors software is not up to speed because they are/have switched to Vista? Saw this before and hope not, as I don't want to 'have' to buy Vista and the obligatory 'upgrades' to all of my 2nd/3rd/etc software installs.

PS....this workstation is a twin Intel Xeon processor (dual core) 240GHz with 2GB Ram (DDR333)
