Tech's comment about 4L60E

I finally got my Sub to my tech for an occassional slipping when going into first gear from a stop. He found no codes stored but thought he felt a late shift from 2-3.

His impression is that the transmission on the NBS 1500 models (or maybe the 4L60E/4L65E transmissions in general) have a weakness in the valvebody. If I understand it correctly, he says it is an aluminum valve body with stainless valves which would be a bad combination in terms of wear. When they wear, they leave shavings or metal bits going into the transmission.

I am not sure if I have this right but I thought I would put it out here for your comments.

As for my symptoms, I asked about dropping the pan to check for metal particles but he wanted to road test some more first.
