I just bought a '95 K2500 4x4 with the 7.4L engine. Regardless of outside temp or how long it is driven, it only warms up to slightly above the 100 degree mark. I realize the temp gauge is not very accurate, but since the heater does not blow warm, it seems close.
I have not checked anything as of yet. I am looking for clues on where to start. My first guess would be the thermostat. I remember reading that some say drilling a hole in it may keep an engine from warming up properly. I have also heard that the wrong water pump, clockwise vs counter clockwise, would cause problems. Is there a part number on the pump?
Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks,
Shawne
