: .....I'm getting a new GM crate engine installed next week in my '96 Burb.
: Actually got the best quote from a local Chevy dealer, they'll be done in two days.
: Matched up with the crate transmission I installed about a year ago, I'll be starting over with a 3 year, 100K mile warranty.
: Looking forward to another 12 years of service from the beast. :)

To help other forum members facing a similar situation:

1)how did you come to make the decision to put in a new engine? Was it due to a failure/problem, just being pro-active or an upgrade?

2)did you factor in the condition of the vehicle or just the total replacement cost? What shape is your Sub in? Does it see snow-salt-mountains-rain-sun-heat-cold?

3)how do you use your sub? Tow, haul, family, daily driver, weekends only?

4)estimated cost to replace engine?

I figure that if people know how you came to make your decision, it might help them make theirs.
