I was working on a commercial door at my temple yesterday fixing up some other "helpers" handywork. It looks like there is a screw that goes into a tapped groove in a piece of aluminum The tapped groove is stripped and the screw has nothing to grab. My proposal was to put some expoy in the groove and then insert the screw. My concern is that I wont be able to tighten it while the epoxy is curing and when cured it won't release the screw. Am I thinking about this correctly?

An easier solution may be to just put some nylon fishing line in the hole and then tighten the screw. Easy but not much holding power and limited longevity.

Suggestions?
