Any deviation from a true sine output at the fundamental frequency of 60 Hz will be reflected in the data sheet as frequency range and THD or total harmonic distortion. Frequency should be within about 3 Hz and THD within about 3%.

Cable length will depend on thickness. There are various tables on the web. I can recommend thickness for specific cases.

Higher order harmonics are delivered to the load if resistive like a light bulb; probably not if inductive like a transformer, motor or pump; maybe if a switching power supply like a laptop PC (or maybe it just smokes the PS). All arguments for true sine inverters.

Know it's egghead stuff but that's why you have resident eggheads on the forum. Now of one of them will just help me with...
