I cannot believe the number of people who refuse to tie down a boat to the trailer. I see many people relying on the hand winch on the bow alone.
Years ago, I had taken surface streets to avoid an accident on the freeway. I stopped for a light and peered back to notice a Chevy 3500 with a service rack full of lumber pulling up behind my (then) Trooper. He stopped, but the center of the 3 foot stack of lumber came right out. I had enough warning to pop the clutch and jump forward a few feet. The lumber hit my spare tire on the back. If I had not moved, it would have been through my rear window.
My favorite is seeing the flying screen doors. Bent by the aerodynamic forces of driving at freeway speeds on the way home from Home Depot. Second are flying mattresses.
