One of the many fabricators I worked for lost a bunch of $$ worth of steel plates. Luckily no one got hurt. Truck driver used nylon straps(illeagal) instead of steel chains to secure his plates. While making a sharp turn on the PA tutrnpike they let loose and flew across the other lanes like a deck of cards. Most plates were 1/8" to 1/4" thick. They would have sheared the roof off of a car.
