From 1991 Chevy Trailering Guide pg. 68 (max gross trailer wt. - note 1):
R2500 7.4L V8 Engine 3.73 - 8500 lbs w/ max tongue load 1000 lbs.
R2500 7.4L V8 Engine 4.10 - 9500 lbs w/ max tongue load 1000 lbs.
R2500 7.4L V8 Engine 4.56 - 8500 lbs w/ max tongue load 1000 lbs.
Note 1: Max gross trailer wt. includes all passengers and cargo in the Suburban plus any cargo in the trailer. RPO Z82 Trailering Package includes wt. distributing hitch platform receiver, engine oil cooler (KC4), transmission oil cooler (V02), and heavy-duty seven-wire harness. If you prefer to use Gross Combination Wt Ratings (GCWR) see GCWR chart pg. 75.
From GCWR chart (includes loaded wt. of both truck & trailer):
7.4L V8 3.73 Auto Transmission - 14,500 lbs
7.4L V8 4.10 Auto Transmission - 16,000 lbs
7.4L V8 4.56 Auto Transmission - 19,000 lbs
Note: Trailer wt. can be 25% greater if the vehicle speed will not exceed 25 mph.
