Forgot, higher temp fluid will varnish up valve body

which will have sticky valve operation. Even affect clutch function with coatings.

Then there is the ash content increase with boiled/burnt fluid.

Potential filter plugging up.

The slight increase in MPG using OD while towing heavy has it's price...

With all that being said, I too tow heavy in OD occasionally. Only on the flats, when the truck is capable and straining...close to sea level where the engine has good breath and cooling capacities.

Use synthetics in all fluids and flush all on very aggresive schedules. Have severe duty fan clutch. Gone to green instead of DeathCool. 180 deg F thermostat with 1/8" dia hole drilled in flange.
