When I recently purchased my 99 K2500 I checked out the A/C as best one can in earl spring and it was functioning normally. Yesaterday I had a reason to turn it on and nothing.
The A/C compressor clutch is not engaging.
After checking the two fuses I found, one under the hood in the power distrubution/fuse panel and the other on the left side of the dash I found them to be ok.
I found no voltage getting to the connector for the clutch.
What looks like a high or low pressure switch on the top of the compressor appears to be open.
Is this normally open or normally closed?
Any other simple tips before I take in for a service?
Sounds like a low charge condition to me a.k.a. a system leak.
