The roads are so full that if you allow the required distance, it immediately fills up with as many cars as can fill the space. Not much you can do about it without becoming a left lane bandit.

: I still have yet to understand why people only allow, maybe, one car length between them and the car in front of them....travelling at 75 MPH. It seems it doesn't matter to them if the speed is 25 MPH or 75 MPH, they must keep the same distance.
: FYI, it takes longer to stop at 75 than at 25!!
: I usually give that group extra space in front of me because when the accident happens, I need to steer around all 5 cars that end up in the accident chain.
