I posted this on an RV forum and then thought I might get some better informed responses here:
"After completeing the installation of the new 5200lb axles under our Carri-lite Cameo; which I did to get rid of the oft bending 3500lb units and to raise the trailer (added 2"X2"X1/4" tubing to the frame) so as to allow the use of the larger 225/15 D rated (2540lb) tires, I made a surprising discovery. When I went to install the new six bolt wheels and tires I noticed that they were not radials but 'D's (225/75D15) which is a bias ply tire. I didn't even know they made them anymore, and feel somewhat embarassed that I didn't pay more attention to the axle/spring/equalizer hanger kit/wheel/tire package that I purchased. They are also all nylon, no steel belts, and I am now wondering if I made a mistake with the tires. Is anyone running these and if so what is your experience with them."
