1. I'm looking to buy up to a used 01/02 sub. I need to pull 5,000 to 6,000 lbs. I'm staying away from the 8.1L because of gas prices because we'll tow 3 or 4 times a year. The rest of time it's moving kids around town. I'm looking at the 5.7L or 6.0L. I want to make certain it has the oil and tranny cooler and "tow package."
2. What is "autoride?"
3. Am I dreaming if I expect to get 15 mpg around town with the 5.7 or 6.0?
4. 4.10 or 3.73 rear end? I know #1 Son has a lot on this, but I didn't find any answer to my question. Does the ration mean 4.10 revolutions of the wheel for every one revolution of the driveline? If so, then it seem the motor works harder to turn the wheels with a 3.73 than it does the 4.10. Therefore, its seems to me that a 4.10 will have more power off the line and get better gas mileage around town. However, at hight speeds (60+) this may change, but why. Has anyone done the math, or are we just at guesses? Thanks.
