Click-Click from the front

2002, C2500, 16.5K miles.

Steering wheel fully turned to right, backing a few feet, I hear 1, usually two clicking sounds from the front. The clicks repeat going forward a few feet. Took her to a friend's brake/alignment shop. Found nothing except a couple of loose bolts on the front cross member, tightening of which didn't cure the problems. Brakes looked brand new according to my friend.

Any ideas on what could cause this clicking noise?
