The quick and easy is to cut the original wire as it exits from the steering column and splice it to new turn signal wiring.
The complete (read anal retentive) and "proper" way to replace is to pull the old wire completely out and snake the new one down the steering column. Remove the steering wheel so that you can see and route the wire properly through the column. Take note how the old wire runs through the top of the column. Be prepared as this is not the easiest of tasks. Take a fairly stiff piece of wire loop it through the hole that is in the plastic connector of your new turn signal switch. Where the wire is fed through the hole, tape up smoothly so nothing will snag as it is threaded through bottom part of the steering column. The wire will be fed through a plastic sleeve that is inside the steering column. There are 4 bolts that hold the steering column up, located under the dash. Loosening these will allow a little more clearance as you snake the new wire through. Use lots of silicone spray as this is a safe lubricant on all the internal part of the column and will help in new wire being pulled through.
BOL!!
