Are dual 3" exhausts too much for a 98 7.4L 454 burb? I plan on replacing the cats with magnaflow high flow cats and the mufflers with a Flowmaster DF 40. Also replacing the manifolds with Thorly headers later on.
I'm getting conflicting views between dual 2.5" and dual 3". The muffler shop tells me 2.5" is fine and the car will bog with dual 3". The 4 wheel and engine shop I go to say dual 3" is fine and and will enhance further engine mods later on.
I've always been a fan of loud exhausts, had a 72 Lemans as my first car, so it has always stuck with me.
Had the interior of the burb layered with 4 layers of soundmat, so interior noice shouldn't be a problem.
Any advice with the exhaust will help and thanks in advance.
