Dangling strat goes to heater core stud.
Battery acid has likely wicked down the cable from the battery to the underhood fuse and relay center. It can cause corrosion on the stud that receives it.
When the battery has leaked acid, ALL of the cables that were on that terminal need to be replaced. Acid is stored in the insulation and wire braids like a candle wick.
