Higher friction coefficient (0.42 vs 0.25 OEM) higher outgassing temp (600+ vs 300F) exotic materials that grab instantaneously. For use on non-cryo treated rotors and drums, use what they call stage 1, a carbon/kevlar matrix. Cost is about $ 115 for pads and about $ 80 for shoes.
