I have about 85K now on my '99 K2500. I had the infamous brake pull problem and had a couple sets replaced under warranty (GM). I was not happy with the stock pads so I tried Raybestos Severe Duty pads. They were ok but just about the same braking performance as stock pads. I switched to Praise pads, shoes and ART rotors just out of warranty. I have now gone through 2 sets of Praise pads and 1 set of GM pads (used them only because UPS lost my Praise shipment).

I use Raybestos on my other cars and they are just fine. I have never been happy with my Suburbans brakes and needs to do something to improve them (learned how inadequate they really were towing one summer).

So, I use them because they stop markedly better than any other pads I've tried. They don't "last forever", but I didn't buy them for that feature. I wish they would last longer, well - forever would be just fine with me. But, they simply stop better in my opinion (and Sweeties's too). I have not had any pads last really long on this truck. I have just accepted that they are truly a routine maintenance item. I now change the fronts every year and rears every other year (or so). I have about 21K now on this set and they are ready to be changed.

On the warranty issue - I have never had any problem with Praise's service (John). They have always treated me well. I continue to recommend them to other people that complain about their Subs braking performance.

So, my vote still goes to Praise Dyno. But, buy what works for you. We all drive differently, tow different items, etc. I would be very happy to just go down to my local store and buy pads. I don't call and order, then wait for them to arrive for no reason. Heck, you can't even really show them off to you friends. I swear, my neighbors have never coveted my Praise Dyno pads. I haven't paint them funny colors, put a Praise sticker on my back window... I just buy 'em cuz they stop better. Oh, I said that before...

IMHO, buy what works for you. If you want pads that really last a long time, become the inventor of the new Teflon composite pad. "Never stops, but lasts forever" ;-)
